The name Aeneas means praise in Greek. We know about Aeneas that he was a Christian paralytic at Lydda for eight years and that Apostle Simon Peter cured him. Peter was traveling everywhere to visit Gods people. During one such trip he reached to Lydda.
The Acts says, There he (Peter) met a man named Aeneas, who was paralysed and had not been able to get out of bed for eight years. Aaneas Peter said to him Jesus Christ makes you well. Get up and make your bed. At once Aeneas got up (Acts 9, 33-34).
The impetus and frightened Simon Peter experienced the power of the Risen Lord after the Resurrection of Jesus. He exercised that power to do good to people who believed in the Resurrection of Jesus as Christians. Aeneas believed in the Resurrection of Jesus and trusted Peter as an Apostle of Jesus. The result was that he got cured of his eight-year long paralytic.
The miraculous cure of Aeneas from his paralysis helped not only Aeneas to get back his health but also many people at Lydda and Sharon to turn to the Lord and be the followers of Jesus in the new group of believers who accepted Jesus as their Saviour and Redeemer. So the author of Acts says, All the people living in Lydda and Sharon saw him (Aeneas), and they turned to the Lord.(contact the author: यह ईमेल पता spambots से संरक्षित किया जा रहा है. आप जावास्क्रिप्ट यह देखने के सक्षम होना चाहिए. )
