Come And See

Foreword
The picture above is the first encounter between Andrew, the first disciple of Jesus, and his companion with Jesus of Nazareth. Andrew was already a disciple of John the Baptist. However, when John the Baptist saw Jesus walking by on the bank of the Jordan River, he exclaimed to his disciples: “Behold, the Lamb of God!” ( John 1, 35). Andrew and his companion became curious to know more about this stranger called Jesus and began to follow closely behind him. Jesus turned and saw them following him. “What do you seek?” he asked and they said to him. “Rabbi, (which means teacher), “where are you staying?” He said to them, “Come and See”.

That’s is the purpose of this series of five small books on the life of Jesus Christ; to see and discover for oneself what kind of a person Jesus is, and whether or not his teaching is relevant today for our society where greed, injustice, corruption, and communalism flourish.

As it takes time for a friendship to develop with another person, so too it will take a while by your reading to come to know Jesus and what he stood for. Be patient and persistent and you will be rewarded!
